Abstinence

Abstinence is appropriate for young people who have not yet begun sexual activity, as well as those who are already sexually experienced. There may be emotional or social advantages to delaying sexual intercourse until they are older, more mature, or married. Abstinence provides protection against STIs and HIV/AIDS.
