In the previous session you have learnt how to assess and manage trauma patient in general and the anesthetic consideration for trauma patient during the surgical procedure. Beside the difficult air way and full stomach the traumatized patient may have a direct air way insult which need immediate action at the scene of trauma or during induction of anesthesia. Thoracic traumas, particularly to the chest wall or lung, heart or great vessels, are fatal. However, the rapid institution of appropriate therapy can save the lives of many people. To contribute your role in the management or to provide safe referral for these patients you have to understand the principles of management of these critical incidents. In this session you will learn to adopt knowledge, skill and appropriate attitude in managing airway, chest and heart trauma as a team member and anesthesia provider
