Preparation of the Environment for Delivery

The baby should be delivered in a clean environment away from drafts. There should be clean instruments to cut and tie the cord. The room temperature should be maintained at 250C or there should be a source of heat. There should be a good light source to assess the baby, and hand washing facilities to reduce infection.
