Introduction

In study session III you have learnt about the techniques of providing anesthesia during pregnancyfor a non obstetric procedure. In this study session you will learn about the anaesthetic management of clients with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy or pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. In addition you will learn about basic maternal changes during eclampsia and the treatment for eclampsia and management of common complications that could occur in patients with pre-eclampsia. Finally different anesthesia techniques that are used for clients with pre-eclampsia will be discussed.
