Introduction
In the previous session management of the emergence of anesthesia you have learnt how to care and maintain stability during emergence. It is very critical time compounded with much physiologic alteration that may risk patient life unless the anesthetist and other health care team are vigilant and patient. In Ethiopia, most hospital post anesthesia recovery is less equipped especially to mange airway problem. Therefore, it is prudent to be sure that the patient can manage his air way maintain his ventilation and oxygenation, before we transfer to post anesthesia care unit. In this session you will learn to adopt knowledge, skill and the right attitude in the general care of the patient recovering from anesthesia, and the most commonly encountered respiratory, circulatory and other complications.
