Temperature
Every patient receiving anesthesia shall have temperature monitored. General and regional anesthesia affects the patient's ability to control their temperature. General and regional anesthesia causes vasodilatation, resulting in heat loss. Inhaled anesthetics disrupt the hypothalamus ability to control body temperature. The commonest site for detecting body temperature is oral, axillary, skin, esophagus, rectum, and bladder.
