In the previous sessions, two to seven of this module you have learnt about anesthetic drugs, adjunct and intravenous fluid and blood administration. These agents are mainly administered intravenously. Intravenous therapy is the process of introducing drugs or liquids into the body through the veins. It is used when the body needs to absorb substances quickly, as well as when the patient is unable to take the medications or liquids in other ways such as orally or intramuscularly. In this session you will learn the knowledge, skill and right attitude to prepare the necessary equipment, select appropriate site and perform and care intravenous injection.
