Changes of body fluids volume may occur at any time before, during or after surgical procedure. The management of fluid & electrolyte balance is an important part of anesthetic care. The goal of perioperative fluid management is to provide the appropriate amount of parenteral fluid to maintain intravascular volume and electrolyte balance. The anesthetist should be able to assess intravascular volume accurately and to replace any fluid or electrolyte deficits and ongoing losses. Errors in fluid replacement may result in considerable morbidity or even death. In this session you will learn to adopt knowledge, skill and the right attitude to rationally manage the requirement of fluid perioperatively
