Immediate Pre-Induction Checklist

1. Check functional state of anesthesia machine, monitors and suction
2. Prepare appropriate fluid infusion system
3. Prepare appropriate intravenous drugs (anesthetics, muscle relaxants, Anticholinergics, vasopressors).
4. Assemble equipment for general anesthesia or regional anesthesia
5. Check room temperature, operating table function, special needs (worming/cooling blanket on table)
6. Identify and position patient on the operating table.
7. Examine chart to determine any recent information and changes and to verify administration and timing of premedication
8. Start intravenous infusion
9. Apply monitors and chart base line value
10. Discuss any changes in surgical plans or patient condition with the surgeon.
