In this Sudy Session, you have learned:

  • To check the immunisation status of children and manage common childhood infections. Every child less than one year age needs to be checked for the immunization status, Vitamin A and deworming when the child visits your health post or you when are visiting children in their home.
  • About other important childhood illnesses in infants like ear, eye, skin and throat infections. If these infections are left untreated, they can cause serious complications.
  • To classify ear problems into mastoditis, acute ear infection, chronic ear infection, and no ear infection.
  • To classify skin infections int very severe skin infection, impetigo, and scabies for the most skin problems of skin. Throat infections are caused mostly by the streptococci bacteria.
  • To classify throat problems into Streptococcal sore throat, no Streptococcal sore throat and no throat problems.
  • How to assess these common childhood infections and classify them accordingly and know their treatment and follow-up
