Women in labour feel accepted and satisfied when the caregiver and personal companions provide them physical, emotional and psychological support in a friendly manner. A women-friendly care is a care given to a woman in labour considering the emotional, psychological and social well-being of a woman.

In this session, you will learn how to provide physical care so as to help the woman cope with her pain. The majority of this session will introduce you to various kinds of physical care you could provide for a labouring woman. Some of these care includes touching, massaging the back of the woman and helping the mother to manage her pain. You will also learn how to provide emotional and psychological support through establishing good communication and having a helping and patient companion by her side.
