This session will teach you about the Cold chain, the system of storing and transporting the vaccines at recommended temperatures from the point of manufacture to the point of use. Vaccines should be stored at the conducive temperature (+2ºC to +8ºC so that excess heat or freeze will not decrease the vaccine potency which in turn increase the recipients chance of protection against vaccine-preventable disease.

In this study session, we will also explain how you may appropriately manage your immunisation program by accurately calculating your vaccine needs and keeping your stock of vaccine reliable according to the standard so that the program will not be interrupted by a shortage of vaccine supply. The study session will also explain how to avoid vaccine wastage by reducing the risk that the stock will pass its expiry date.
