Introduction

In this study session, you will learn about common antiviral vaccines used Ethiopia; these are hepatitis B (HepB) vaccine, oral polio vaccine (OPV), rotavirus vaccine and measles vaccine. And also recommended dosages, the route of administrations, site of injections and schedules of each antiviral vaccines (Tables 3.1 and 3.2). You will also be introduced about the need to give vitamin A supplements at the same time as the measles vaccine, and to children who present to you with Measles. This study session will also help you to give clear information about how to manage mild and severe adverse events following antiviral vaccine immunisation (AEFIs) reactions if they occur.
