Summary
In this Study Session, you have learnt that:
- Conducting community survey is the first things that you do when you enter a community before starting to provide any service. From that survey, you know the number of persons by age and sex for each household and the whole community or kebele. Therefore, you can determine the number of young people aged 10-24 years old who are eligible for AYRH services from your survey.
- Gathering information regarding the occurrence, distribution, access to and use of resources can be done through careful discussion with the community members, government officials and other relevant stake holders.
- There are five general steps to follow when you organise adolescent and youth friendly services in different settings. These include needs assessment, assessing training status of the health extension workers, identifying AYRH service problems, developing a proposal and presenting action plan.
- An action plan is an important tool which presents the proposal in more specific details for the accomplishment of activities. It mainly contains detailed specifications including who will do it and when the particular activity to be carried out.
