Summary
In this Study Session, you have learnt that:
- In order to combat adolescent and youth RH problems, the youth should receive appropriate information and education on family life, the development of reproductive organs, the relationship of opposite sexes, unwanted pregnancy, illegal abortion, HIV/AIDS and other STIs, appropriate family responsibility, marriage, the importance of family planning services etc.
- The effects of reproductive health related problems arising from the use of alcohol and addictive substances have to be prevented by designing specific intervention activities aiming at sustained community-based awareness creation on the negative effects of these substances.
- Social problems associated with youth severely affect their health condition. Therefore, creating an enabling environment, and organising the youth and communities at large is an important intervention in the fight against the youth social problems.
