Pregnancy is one of the critical times as high maternal mortality and morbidity occurs at this time because of the many external and internal factors which directly or indirectly affect both the mother and the fetus. However, these problems can be minimized if the pregnant mothers are screened for pregnancy related disorders early and the necessary action taken accordingly.

In this study session you will learn how to conduct a general assessment of the pregnant woman during ANC visits and screen her for danger signs that can occur during pregnancy.
