Types of female pelvis
There are four types of female pelvises.
a) The gynaecoid pelvis (female type): has round brim; the ischial spine is blunt.
b) The android pelvis (male type): has heart shaped brim and with a prominent ischial spine.
c) The anthropoid pelvis: with long oval shape brim, the ischial spine is blunt.
d) The platypeloid pelvis: kidney shape brim, the ischial spine is blunt.

The gynaecoid pelvis is an appropriate to give birth.
