Injuries produced by an animal or human bites may cause punctures, laceration or avulsion.

A. Human Bites

  • The mouth is heavily contaminated.
  • Clean the wound with clean water and cover it with a clean cover
  • Take the person to the health centre.

B. Dog Bites

  • Keep the animal under observation.
  • Clean the wound with fresh water and soap and cover it with a clean cover.
  • Take the person to the health centre.

C. Snake Bites

  • Lay the casualty down.
  • Immobilise the affected part.
  • Keep the affected part below the level of the heart.
  • Wash the wound with clean water.
  • Take the person to the health centre.
