Introduction

The previous study session described the assessment and identification of casualty which is the first activity that has to be performed by the first aider before the initiation of first aid service. As you have learnt in that session, performing a quick assessment of the casualty has a significant advantage for both the first aider as well as for the casualty and finally to provide the appropriate lifesaving and life restoring service.

In this session, you will be learning about providing first aid service and referral so that you will acquire the required knowledge, skill and attitude regarding the techniques of providing first aid service that enable you to provide first aid for the casualty.
