Introduction

In the previous session you have learned about concepts and principles of health promotion. You have also learned about major action and concern of health promotion and its relation with health education. One this action of health promotion is empowering the community. Involving community member in all affairs that affect them is one of the major methods to empower community.

In this session you will learn basic concepts of community participation and the benefit of community involvement in health care activities. You will also discuss about principles and steps in community participation. Meanwhile, you will be able to develop skills necessary to effectively and efficiently use community's resources by community participation.
