Introduction

In this study session, you will learn about factors leading to unwanted pregnancy, the psychosocial impact of unwanted pregnancy and the magnitude (i.e. extent) of the problem. You will also learn that an unwanted pregnancy is often terminated by abortion (sometimes spontaneous but often unsafely induced) and that this may lead to complications.

You will learn how you can support a young person with an unwanted pregnancy. You will learn how to provide her with post-abortion care if she needs it.
