Adverse events and contraindications of TT vaccine

The possible adverse events following immunization of women with TT vaccine are usually mild: low-grade fever, and soreness/pain at the injection site, which can be treated with paracetamol in women who are not already pregnant. Women of child-bearing age who developed a severe allergic reaction or encephalopathy to a previous dose of TT vaccine should not be given TT again.
