Java based Phone

DON’TS:

  1. Do not Switch SIM cards
  2. Do not remove the battery from the phone
  3. Do not accept internet settings from other Network providers. Otherwise the configuration will be  lost and you will have to re-configure the phone.

Configuration (Web, Access point)

  1. Configuration of a new phone

  • Go to Menu > settings > configurations
  • Scroll to Personal configuration (empty for 1st time)>back>scroll to Personal configuration settings
  • Select Option > add new > web > Press back one step > My web > select options then activate
  • Select options > add new > access point > access point settings > back one step > with My access point highlighted click options then activate
  • Press back one step > select default configuration settings > go to personal config (just highlight it and not select it) > click options > set as default
  • Select activate default in all applications (Important step). A question pops up to ask if you want to set default in all applications and you should answer “YES”
     2. Configuration of a phone that has successfully submitted reports before (Reconfiguration)

  • IF the configurations were just lost due to 1 or more of the don’ts (listed below), to reconfigure:s
  • Go to Menu > settings > configurations
  • Select default configuration settings > go to personal config (just highlight it and not select it) > click on options > set as default
  • Select activate default in all applications (Important step). A question pops up to ask if you want to set default in all application and you should answer “YES” 
  • IF the configuration has been changed e.g. Other network internet settings were accepted and are listed under default configuration settings; you will need to delete all the other listed networks internet settings except personal configuration and reconfigure as above.

To delete these settings:

  • Go to Menu > settings > configurations > default configuration settings > highlight what you have to delete > click on options > then delete 

How to download the application

  1. Go to phone browser
  2. Type in this address in the phone browser:  dhis.co.zm/DHISMobile.jar
  3. The phone will now begin downloading the app

How to Enter New Records

  1. Go to menu option
  2. Open the DHISmobile Application (can be found in games folder on older phones)
  3. Enter Username and Password (This step is only done once)
  4. Enter Pin (Once Username and Password are entered correctly the DHIS mobile application will always open at this stage)
  5. Malaria Rapid Report 
  6. Option > select day / Click on option > select day should always be the Monday of the week period      you want to report for on the Calendar.
  • For example, for week 4 in 2020 the reporting week period as indicated on the register is 20 - 26 Jan 20 therefore select 20/01/2020 as reporting date on phone
  • For week 10 in 2020 the reporting week period as indicated on the register is 02 - 08 Mar 20 select 02/03/2020 as reporting date on phone

Or directly enter the Monday of the week period you want to report for in the date spaces provided

  • For example, for week 4 in 2020, the reporting week period as indicated on the register is 20 - 26 Jan 20, enter/ type in 20/01/2020
  • For week 4 in 2020, the reporting week period as indicated on the register is 02 - 08 Mar 20 enter/ type in 02/03/2020

      7. Options > Next > Enter DATA for that week on the report form > Option > Save > Dismiss > Send

Once a report has been received, a feedback message that “Report uploaded successfully” appears on the screen

Note: If you do not receive the feedback message “Report uploaded successfully” and instead it brings back Malaria Rapid Report it means the report has not been received.
